Tentacles of Terror.

This is called Tentacles of Terror or Tackle of the Tentacle. It is located in the Slovenian town of Ljubljana. A group of environmentalists, The Miha Artnak, is responsible for this piece. They collected trash (mostly plastic bags and plastic cups) from all over town and compiled them into this sculpture, which contains over 40,000 bags and 7,500 used cups. The piece continues to grow and be added to.
I found this while looking up other projects similar to our own, and it struck me that while we used the words to form a message, this piece used a monster taking over the town to show how environmental problems can overtake the world.
I like this piece because the monster is actually kind of cute, but making up the cute face is really something terrible.

I was about to post this one! I thought the trash monster was adorable. However, this really does highlight the over consumption and waste of our daily world.

I wonder if the people who just stumbled on the tentacles followed them back to their source. Sort of like a mini excursion that brought a new life to the paths they walk everyday and the trash they consume so much of.

I wonder if the monster has caused any trouble with the city's sanitation department. Personally I like the idea of a nonthreatening monster sprawling out through a few walkways, but I imagine some of the folks might not take too kindly to the inconvenience.

This is great! i can't believe how long it is, it guess it is to prove hoe much we over consume. I love it!

wish we could have done something like that that would have been cool. Amazing though what is keeping the trash on the ground though what if it rained really hard?

Oh this is so cool! I was wondering the same thing Whitney did....i wonder if people followed the tentacles. This is a really awesome project to relate ours to. Its a really creative way to make people more aware.
