Alien Landscape Art

This project will consist of two large (4' tall) plant like sculptures and four (2' tall) mini sculptures. Each sculpture consists of a tall PVC pipe base with a ball (a hamster ball) sitting on top with wire (colorful electrical wire) cascading from the top of the ball. The two locations would be in front of the Meadows Museum and in the Crumley gardens. What I was trying to accomplish with this public art piece is to create something fun and eye catching for the viewers, which would be feasible to complete on our timeline and budget.

This would a great addition to the coma pus because that area needs to be lighted and they are made into something that will bring attention.

My only concern for this project would be durability. I don't imagine that it would take much to be able to knock one of these structures down or to actually break a hamster ball. It's a good idea though. Brings attention to the area and provides a much needed light source.

I really like this idea too. I'm not seeing where it says in the original post that the globe on top would be lighted, but wherever that idea came from, I think it is a good one.

I agree with Jesse about the materials for durability, but as well as aesthetics. If we can think of different materials that still carry the same idea, it may look better and last slightly longer.
